DC rape suspect spotted in Brandon
HILLSBOROUGH, COUNTY FL -- Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering a reward of up to $1000 for information leading to the capture and arrest of wanted fugitive Marcos Reyes Banegas.
Reyes is currently wanted for the rape of an eight-year-old child that occurred in the Washington, DC area. The suspect has an active fugitive warrant for his arrest out of Prince Williams County, Virginia. Reyes is in the United States illegally from Honduras, and may be trying to flee the country.
According to the U.S. Marshals Service, Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force, the suspect has ties to the Brandon area. Marco Reyes is described as a Hispanic male, 25 yoa, 5'3" tall, 154 pounds, black hair, and brown eyes.
Reyes was spotted in the Brandon area on Friday afternoon between 4:00 and 4:30 walking east of I-75 on State Road 60 and then again on State Road 60 just west of Faulkenburg Road.
Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of Marcos Reyes Banegas and who wants to be eligible for a cash reward is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS(8477), report anonymously online at www.crimestopperstb.com or submit an anonymous text tip to C-R-I-M-E-S (274637), keyword Tip155 and the message.
