Or are you part of the problem?

10/05/2008: "Would a white person get away with it?"
In August of 2007 [black] Pastor Charles E. Flowers was arrested on felony aggravated assault charges after he and his drill instructor were accused of dragging a [white] teen girl behind their van when she failed to complete a run at their Christian boot camp.
"Investigators with the Nueces County Sheriff's Office arrested Charles E. Flowers shortly before noon at the Faith Outreach Center in northwest San Antonio, said Brad E. Bailey, a spokesman for the Schertz Police Department.
The department assisted Nueces County authorities in the arrests because some of the camp's training exercises occur in Schertz.
Bailey said boot camp trainer Stephanie Bassitt was arrested later in Kirby.
Authorities said both boot camp officials restrained a girl June 12, tying her to the back of the truck before dragging her on her stomach at the Love Demonstrated Ministries boot camp in Banquete, about 10 miles west of Corpus Christi.
The 15-year-old girl's mother complained to authorities about the incident after taking her daughter to get treated for scrapes and bruises.
Flowers is the self-proclaimed "commandant" of the boot camp, which he operates with his wife, Janice."
At least he was arrested, but as you may guess, released to go back and preach to his church the following Monday.
"The teen said Bassett held her down while Flowers tied her to the back of a vehicle, Lochard said. She was dragged after being forced to run behind a moving van.
Bobbi Greer said she witnessed the dragging. She worked as a cook at the Nueces County Ranch, where the alleged assault happened in early June.
"Every time she would fall, they would drag her," Greer said."
Pretty sick, eh? It gets sicker. The charges were reduced to Class A misdemeanor assault. 347th District Judge Nelva Gonzales Ramos lowered the felony charges to simple assault after the defense argued the van and rope could not be considered deadly weapons. The only witness, a cook at the ranch, who spoke out against the abuse was fired. A mistrial was declared this past May due to the jury not being able to reach a verdict after 11 hours of deliberation. The last information I could find only had the Prosecuter trying to decide whether he was going to re-try the case or not.
If this were a white pastor and the teen was black, you can bet your next paycheck it would be labeled a hate crime and Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would make sure everyone was in an uproar about it. But how many of you have actually heard about this? Main stream media wont tell you this story. If they do by chance offer the story up, it will be a white washed [no pun intended] version of it.
